Now we can start on assembly, and begin to work with the chromed gold pieces.Where nub marks will not be seen on the final model, nubs are as normal, and all I can really do is trim them carefully. But where they’d be seen Bandai have under-gated them, so that they trim without leaving visible marks. It’s oh so much a pity that they couldn’t do that on ever kit, chromed or not!The pieces are going together well. It’s a relatively simple kits so far.The back looks to have interesting detail so I might experiment in ways to “bring it out”. I did try my Rapidograph pen on some fine details on the gold, and it worked. I’m wondering if some Tamiya clear red in the deepest wells of detail may enhance the model? (Yes it does. I just tried it and ended up colouring in some detail parts on practically all the gold runners. Being clear, it doesn’t disrupt the shine much, and the red colour goes well with the gold and the overall colour scheme of the kit. Pictures of this next instalment.) The shoulder went together smoothly, and there’s no visible nub marks on the exterior thanks to the under-gating. This is going to be a great looking kit when complete!
