One recurring theme I really like in the various Gundam universes are large weapon platforms that the mechs can dock with, like the Meteor Units in Seed, and the GN Arms in 00. I don’t know if I want to build the HG Exia that comes with this kit (and I wasn’t going to pay through the nose for the GN Arms special release for the RG Exia), but I bought the RG Exia along with it to build instead.
A nice big box! 
But some of the pieces look a bit strange, almost as if they’re incomplete! I’ve seen the end result of these pieces while researching the kit and hate the way it looks….
So out comes the Milliput to fill in the honeycomb. Note to self: always cut off half as much Milliput as you think you’ll need to avoid wastage! 
These blue sections also have a similar section that will be visible on the complete model, so they got filled too. 
Here’s the first layer of Milliput in place.
Then undercoated and sanded.
And undercoated and sanded on these pieces too.
See what you mean now about the unfinished sections, will need to get my milliputt out too!!
Yes, the un-finished sections seem strange. Looking at the completed kit I’m happy I filled them in though. I think the large white section, which looks a bit plain now, will be a good spot for some decals though.

Yes, the RG Exia docks fine with this version of the GN Arms.
