I just got some new paint in the post from Curry’s art store in Toronto.I have some ideas that require fluorescent paint, so I picked four colours to try from the Createx Auto Color line. And because I was in the mood to try some new paints, I also got these iridescent paints too! First up to try is the fluorescent yellow. As is, it’s way too thick to be able to airbrush, but a bit of Tamiya acrylic thinner does the trick. Obviously I’ll have to try it properly on top of some undercoated plastic (I’m sure Alclad white undercoat will work well for this).I took the painted plastic to my light box to test its properties. With just the room light on it looks like normal plastic. But when I hit the UV switch on the light box it glows!!!!! Oh my this is going to be fun!
Tres cool!
wow nice glow! It would be awesome to see this kind of paint on a unicorn with green psycho-frame
I have an HG Unicorn to go with the Neo Zeong, so perhaps I’ll give that a go. Great idea. I also have other plans for the paint too…..
Speaking of the Neo Zeong, do you plan to buy the effect parts from P-Bandai? I’ve just noticed that it has a hexagonal pattern like the one you’re doing.
I’m not getting the effects parts. I thought that would be taking things a little too far!
